Scripps Ranch is a community of San Diego, California in the northeastern part of that city. Its ZIP code is 92131.  Scripps Ranch used to be a 400 acre ranch owned by a newspaper publisher named E.W. Scripps. He then aquired more land to 1,200 acres.

In 2003, a section of Scripps Ranch was Burned down badly by the Cedar Fire, burning over 300 homes.  Scripps Ranch is a upscale area compared to other parts of San Diego along with La Jolla.

The San Diego County Assessor’s Office’s 2008 estimates, has reported that there were 32,476 persons living in the community,  which led to an increase of 15.9% from 2000.  The racial makeup of the community was 71% White, 15% Asian & Pacific Islander, 7.8% Hispanic, 3.7% from other races, 2.4% African American, and .01% American Indian. The neighborhood differs in age with 27% under 18 and 8% over 65. The average age was 39.5. There were 2.78 persons per household. The median household income was $122,840; 46% of the 11,661 homes made $100,000 or more and 7% made $29,999 or less.

Scripps Ranch, Ca is a inland neighborhood within the City limits of San Diego.  It is east of Interstate 15, and North of the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, and South of Poway. Miramar has a Reservoir that is located in Scripps Ranch and has recreational fishing and boating. A specefic look of Scripps Ranch is its landscaping, which has many large Eucalyptus trees that you can see along Pomerado Road.
